Scope of the policy
This policy governs the personal information collected or received by WeFinanceU:
• through the site wefinanceu.ca (hereinafter, the « Site »);
• when you create or use a user account, where applicable; • as part of a request for information submitted through the Site;
• through online appointment booking; • through subscription to a communications list (newsletter);
• when information from the Software is communicated to us with your consent.
This policy does not govern the mortgage brokerage services that WeFinanceU may eventually provide to you, unless brokerage services are expressly provided to you through the Site.
Collection of personal information
We collect the following personal information when you interact on our Site or provide it to us voluntarily, for example when making contact requests or through the Software:
• first and last name;
• email address;
• telephone number;
• financial information provided voluntarily through the Software;
• other information voluntarily submitted.
Use of personal information
Your personal information is used to:
• respond to your questions;
• process a request for information;
• create and administer your user account, where applicable;
• schedule or confirm an appointment;
• understand your financing or refinancing project;
• communicate with you regarding the estimate obtained through the Software, where applicable;
• offer you the services of a WeFinanceU team member;
• provide you with mortgage brokerage services;
• comply with our legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations;
• send you newsletters, promotions, or commercial communications, with your consent;
• provide you with technical support;
• ensure the operation, maintenance, and security of the Site;
• detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse;
• analyze the general operation of the Site;
• personalize your experience on the Site;
• generate statistics and reports on navigation in order to improve the Site’s performance.
If we wish to use your personal information for purposes other than those mentioned above, we will seek your consent, except in cases permitted by law.
Sharing of personal information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share it with:
• the brokers, representatives, employees, and collaborators of WeFinanceU;
• lenders or financial partners, when you have expressly requested that your file be presented to such persons.
We may also disclose your personal information to other persons or organizations (i) if it is necessary to achieve the objectives described in this privacy policy, (ii) if you have consented to it, or (iii) if the law permits us to do so.
In general, your personal information is kept in Quebec. However, it may sometimes be transferred to other Canadian provinces or internationally, for example:
• when we use cloud services (cloud) or technology platforms whose servers are located outside Quebec;
• when we use suppliers or partners located in other jurisdictions for technology support, hosting, or analytics services (for example: Google Analytics and Google Search Console); and

Before disclosing personal information outside Quebec or entrusting its processing to a supplier located there, WeFinanceU assesses privacy-related factors and puts in place the appropriate contractual and organizational protections.

Despite our efforts to ensure a high level of protection, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely infallible. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information.

WeFinanceU collects certain anonymous information, notably the IP addresses (Internet Protocol addresses) recorded by servers.
We also collect navigation information through tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console. This data is used solely for statistical purposes and includes, for example:

• browsing habits (pages viewed, number of visits, session duration, etc.); and

Privacy incident
In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec and, where applicable, the individuals concerned.
Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time in order to adapt it to legislative or technological developments. All changes will be posted on this page with the update date.
